Textile printing is a complex technological process. The human factor also remains an important aspect in all technological processes. Silkscreen printing is still considered an artform, even though we use it as a commercial enterprise for the embellisment of our products.

Printing anomolies are facted into the commercial processes, and are managed by an industry standard, which varies from country to country.

All recommendations are believed to be reliable but do not constitute a guarantee. The customer must determine the suitability of the product for their own purposes and carry out their own appropriate tests. We are always happy to discuss the purpose and suitability prior to the print run.

Tolerances for colour when printing on textiles

Colour corresponds to the pantone selected by the client, in daylight color. In silkscreen printing, colour differences within a halftone from the specified pantone, in both directions, are allowed. This includes the print colour falling into the base colour. A color difference of more than one tone are allowed on other printing methods.

Example of general tolerances

  • The application layer is uniform and homogeneous over the entire surface
  • The layer is tangible and elastic
  • The transfer is glued evenly
  • When bent, it does not form “wrinkles” on the surface.
  • The surface is visually smooth and even, without roughness
  • For pique, slight repetition of the fabric texture is acceptable
  • Regarding tensile strength - ithstands stretching up to 15%.
  • Durability - washable up to 40 C
  • Little or no colour loss when washed at recommended temperatures for up to 20 washes.
  • The lines form a clear pattern when viewed from 1m.
  • Minor smudges are acceptable as long as they do not impair the overall appearance.
  • The deviation in the placement of print elements should not exceed 0.5 mm (color overlap, outline).
  • The color protrusion beyond the substrate is no more than 0.5 mm.
  • Geometricity - i.e no deviations of form.
  • Minor gaps in the base are allowed.

Printing on T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies

1. Back / chest

  • The slope is no more than 0.5 cm per 10 cm of print in any direction
  • Horizontally – ± 5 cm depending on the size of the print.
  • Vertically - offset from the center no more than 1-1.5 cm

2. Sleeve

  • Deviation no more than ± 0.3 cm from parallel to the sleeve edge.
  • The print center coincides with the seam line on the shoulder.

3. Printing on cut textiles

  • For prints of A5 format and smaller: deviation ±1 cm
  • For print A4 and larger: deviation ± 1.5-2 cm

4. Printing on baseball caps / visors

  • Vertically - The center of the print is in the center of the product. Deviation is no more than 0.3 cm in both directions.
  • Horizontally - Not closer than 0.5 cm from the visor. Deviation of no more than 0.5 cm in relation to the extreme side points of the print relative to the visor line.
